The 13th Doctor - A Legacy Of Failure
So with the recent news of Jodie Whittaker quitting the role of Doctor Who, I thought now would be a good time to think about the legacy she leaves behind her.

The bbc is just going to be the othello with the black guy on loop.
Ngl I do love Chiballs Master. Everything else sucks tho
I say it’s not as good as the past ones but still ok
@Sam Witherington I´ve been obsessed with the idea of Ben Whishaw one day being the Doctor for at least 2 years now.... But it seems that I might be the only one....
Who would you cast as The Doctor?
They could have explored these themes if the writing wasn't shit. That's the thing with this show, it has the freedom to just make up any situation needed to explore any theme it wants and they fucked it up by having the creative ability of what I'm flushing down the toilet right now as I'm typing this.
Same thing happened with star trek
The whole reason for the Judoon episode with Tenant was so he could prove he could properly enunciate those long o sounds without slipping back into his Scottish accent, otherwise he would lose the role. Heads would roll if Jodie had to do something like that.
I’m so glad I grew up watching Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith
There’s nothing worse than a great show slipping into mediocrity. I’ll never forget the first time I saw season one in 2006 when I was like 8. The Doctor is confronting the Daleks on Satellite 5 after finally uncovering their shadowed presence, guiding and harvesting a domesticated humanity. He asks how they survived, and then a deep, loud and sinister voice booms: “They survived through ME.” Damn those were the days.
I agree with you on Doctor Who
The Doctor loves Humans, even with their faults, and believes they can always be better.Obviously this isn't a point of view any SJW moron can understand, let alone write a decent story about.
Why did chibnal do this like WHY!
Technically, 17 people have been the Doctor if you include Peter Cushing (the 60s films), Richard Hurdnall (1st Doctor in The Five Doctors), David Bradley (1st Doctor in Twice Upon A Time), John Hurt as the War Doctor. And more if you count this last season which I don't.
I am starting to believe that these studio are actively hiring people that hate the properties they're being hired to work on. It must have something to do with the deconstructionist agenda. I really do find it fascinating (not in a good way) how this agenda seems to be taking over all of western thinking.
I hope Chris Chubby Noballs will get kicked out hard for what he has done in killing the canon of the show
Ive not seen a single episode....lol
Jodie was literally the cheapest actress they considered. She got the job because they didn't want to pay what the other women on the list were asking. We could have had Tilda Swinton, if the BBC weren't so cheap.
Dr Who, like some other shows with long histories, got taken over by some fans. Fans of a thing are the worst people to be left in charge of that thing. Fans come in with heavy bias and a desire to change the thing to fit how "they'd have done it all along". From the point where Dr Who died in the late 80s (again, when the show was run by fans), to when RTD brought it back, to now, all the problems can be laid at the feet of the fans who got the reins. I have been a Dr Who fan since 1975, and I won Junior Mastermind in 1984 with Dr Who as my specialist subject, and I used to converse by post with Peter C. and the other heads at DWAS back in the day, but I gave up on the show early in Capaldi's run. Not because of him, but because it was all crumbling, and so much faster than it did the first time. The show has broken long-established canon only for the sake of the controlling fans' whims. People have forgotten how to build on a thing, to grow and expand, and now believe that they have to break it and re-build it instead.
Yeah I remember the good old days when Doctor Who was a right wing conservative show. Wait, what?
"Very often, we're seeing stories told through the white male gaze. That's what doctor who always celebrated" She's got some fucking nerve to comment on the nearly 60 year history of a show she's never even watched.
yeah she sucks as dr who
What has happened to pop culture? Good, thought provoking stories have been sacrificed for pushy, virtue signalling political bullshit.
She's the 15th Matt Smith had an entire story line of being on his last regeneration. Everything after that needs to be retconned and obliterated from human memory...
As a die-hard Whovian, the fact that I'm watching the show purely because it's Dr Who, and I can't bear to just stop, and I don't actually think the show is any good says a lot. I grew up watching the show, my dad grew up watching the show, my brother grew up watching the show. We love watching it to connect, and I hate what it's become.
Thank fuck she is out, let's hope we can get back to real Dr.Who without all this SJW bullshit.
Social justice TV is a turn off, quit watching from the start.
Jodie Whitaker is the Rebecca Black of Doctor Who 🤣
I never thought I'd stop watching Doctor Who. I've watched and rewatched it since I found Tom Bakers Doctor on PBS in the early 1980's. Sure there were show that were boring of uninteresting but over all a great show with interesting characters and stories. But after the Universe Talking Frog Episode, that was it, so I never saw the true decline and was spared the tragic trainwreck that was the Timeless Child. Maybe they'll RetCon it that it was all a fever dream of Capaldi's regeneration and move on. I'm always willing to give it another chance. I'm not sure how three of the top Sci-Fi properties were taken over by talentless hacks all at about the same time. Was no one else available? Was it a plot to ruin them all? Why?
"She couldn't be bothered to change her accent" Do yourself a favour don't watch Christopher Eccleston you might explode!
The only way they’d possibly be able to SLIGHTLY save the show is if they brought the Dream Lord back and revealed that all of it was just a big dream but I don’t see that happening and can even see the show being canceled
The only episode of Dr. Who I have seen was the first with Chris Eccleston. I got halfway through it, asked myself "How can anyone watch this garbage?", and turned it off
The first one wasnt great, but it gets way way better.
The weird thing is they made Doctor Who way less diverse, complex and exciting despite increasing "diversity". Doctor who always had LGBTQI+ friendly characters, a variety of races, genders and species (ALL COMPETENT) even in season one. Adding "woke diversity" merely made all non PC characters incompetent pointless meme material.
Woke kills everything it touches. It’s record of franchise-distraction is unbroken.
I'd have to agree, the reboot of the series with Christopher Eccleston was an ok start but his accent was a bit to localised & he reminded me more of a skinhead who pinched the TARDIS rather than an ancient time traveller, but you have to start somewhere. I persevered & then we got David Tennant & I was 13 again, the Doctor was back. With Peter Capaldi, it started going bad, sorry Peter I initially blamed you, but after reading many comments online the mass majority of fingers were pointing to the writers & directors, & the penny dropped, you can't polish a turd. I'm not even going to comment on that woman, the adds for the show were enough to make me just give up, so thanks BBC, you got an amazing much loved series & drove it into the river Shit.
I always thought that Capaldi was born to play The Doctor.
Capaldi certainly thought he was lol. Then, like Tennant (The only other fan to ever become the Doctor) he discovered he didn't like it very much at all.
I love the Leeloo laugh in all the videos now lmao
I'm always amused by the, if you don't like it your a misogynist argument. I'm not a star trek fan, I watched it as kid, and watched the first two movies, I am a sci-fi fan, and enjoyed the first movie as much as the second, for it's sense of intelligent sci-fi. Dare I make a alien, aliens analogy? But if it's on, and the first 15 minutes catches me, I'll watch it. So Voyager, a Star Trek where the commander of a Star Ship, is a woman: Commander Janeway. I don't remember any controversy about her being a woman and in charge of a Starship and it's crew. (There might have been some), But whatever, I don't sit there thinking, this is unrealistic; she seems like the sort of powerful woman who might be in charge, and intellectual and determined enough to be an effective commander. If I met such a character at a party, and she told me she commanded one of her majesty's destroyers or aircraft carriers, I wouldn't be that surprised. But like Margaret Thatcher before her, she reveals the lie that feminists want a strong determined womanhood, they really want a Marxist slave to promote their doctrine, woman, man and whatever, they don't really care.
Glad I stopped watching at the end of Smith. Nothing against Capaldi, the writing just went to hell.
Woke is an insult to the normal decent people who are the vast majority and pay the BBCs viewing tax.
Guys, I have a question. Does your wife/girlfriend accuse you of making a David Tennant face during sex like mine does?
please put it out of its missery already .
I remember seeing the very first show, sometime around 1965-66. They ruined the Doctor Who series.
Chibnall is the definition of woke, his utterly self righteous attempts at being politically correct have stripped all of the natural diversity out if the show. Moffat and Russel T davies spent years sensitively portraying difficult topics and moral choices to the viewer. It has dealt with so many issues over the years so well! But Chibnall’s attempts are damaging not only to the show but to kids as well. He’s basically telling us that shallow token character’s are ok! Cough cough Yaz and Ryan... And that a preachy, unsympathetic, insensitive, selfish Doctor that bull dozers everyone elses morals in favour of their own superior ones without question is ok. (karen anyone?). The Doctor always questioned what was right or wrong, it’s not a simple question. He would sacrifice his own morals to protect the innocents, even if it destroyed him to do it. When he went too far and thought his morals were superior there was usually a companion or another ordinary person their to humble him and he’d be a better person just for them. That’s all gone now.
I think 13th doctor has its own taste as its own. And as the doctor is, it has different charcters which some are more emotional than the other. Despite smith being the most emphatic one, I think the trait in the 13th is awkwardness. And nothing is wrong with that so many things can be developed out of that. The only thing that feels like a big jump was the introduction of the child of time and that the doctor was not a Gallifreyan. Its a big leap... I don't think this might be wise, but in the management level might look as the next breakthrough. Despite this, now it all depends on how these elements would be developed later on. But though ps honestly Chibnal could make a better special christmas than "Another" "Daleks Invasion due to the careless nature of humans" I would suggest first giving reason why human tend to forget. You could say the dalek has elements like those aliens that makes you forget about them after you look at away from them. At least something to grab the fans. All in all I would say in my own perspective revolution of the daleks can be written better than this. And dont forget when Ryan chose to leave the doctor, just because of ten months of pause. I mean I know that ten month is a long time, probably. But no one "leave" the doctor because of ten months of a break. I mean c'mon this is "The Doctor" not just another mate that you think "Well I must move on, better focus on my life" ( Except Martha Jones leaving the doctor, that is assumably still relatable because she wants certainty with someone she can fall in love to, and the doctor can not give that to her which reinforce the contuinity that the doctor though look like human but IS NOT a human)
'The show was always told through the white male gaze.' So we just going to pretend that the companions didn't exist? I'd say they were just as crucial to the show as The Doctor was. Rose Tyler, probably one of the most iconic roles in British TV history, Donna Noble, one of my favourite characters in the entire damn show, Sarah Jane Smith, who had an entire spin-off series about her, Amy Pond, hell, what about MARTHA JONES? You know, the black female character that actually took centre stage in several episodes where The Doctor himself had very minimal appearances? (Last of the Time Lords, anyone?) So, basically, you're full of shit, Jodie.
They were more crucial. The companions were the main characters who acted as the liaison for the audience. The doctor was just the side character that got the stories and adventures going.
Every single Movie TV is pushing and preaching a message these day's
Drinker, do an entire video on slyvester mcoy and why he sucked and his companion sucked, that friggin mousy redhead with the pipsqueak annoying voice, and maybe one on colin baker whom I actually liked, he was the meanest doctor and it had the very sexy peri in it.
I'd never watch Dr. Who, because the format is complete shit, but if she ever does hardcore porn I'm still interested.
Said it all along the problem was Shittaker. Even waaaaaay back towards the end of TB's tenure the stories were shocking......Warrior's Gatev WTF was that about ?...... But your interest was held by the actor playing the doctor but Shittaker is fucking shite 💩💩💩
This is so true, I wish this doctor was erased from the timeline and turns out it was all a dream😂
One of my favorite episodes of doctor who is the one where London is being carried through space by a giant whale. And there is a dystopia of dummys that judge people and send them to inside the whale if they are bad. I won't spoil the rest of it, but I'm disappointed that the recent series just focused on times stuff instead of the weird aspect
null point complaining about her being 'lazy' about her accent, every previous actor maintains their distinct accents, and it works, a very non-issue
Completely, completely, completely agree.. I think I watched here first series (see i've already wiped it from my mind) and it was so "woke" in what it was doing that I left crying. Great analysis.
To think I once enjoyed this show lol. Nothing like making things feel completely contrived, empty and injected with useless shit
Sounds like many shows. Hell you could have written out Doctor Who and pretty much slide one of many shows that the WOKE community pushed out to sea ablaze. Never mind you covered most of the bases. When is The Simpsons version of this?
She is my favourite doctor
i love when this piss soaked sandwich gets roasted
And people wonder why cable TV is dying.
The internet will die too
It's death can't come soon enough.
Don't reinvent the wheel, until you run out of inventions. Then push the cube, and decry the inherent misogyny of the cylinder.
I liked her as Bubbles in Absolutely Fabulous ...
I am not going to lie. I think Jodie did her best given how HORRIBLE the story by CC are. Even Matt smith or David tennant could not have saved it considering how miserable and unlogical the plot is.
Still makes me so sad. My favourite show wiped out so quickly. I’m just grateful for how amazing the show was and living through the excitement of tennant and smith. That Christmas when David Tennant left was amazing, doctor who mania and a great send off!
Just make Ricky Gervais the new doctor lmfaooo
Sorry but I appreciate you have your views but I really liked the series and Jodie Whitaker was great Hope you like the the next one
This was a great review.
It was so easy to forget all the characters names and personalities, if they actually had any personality
Was expecting to dislike this vid, bc any time I've argued with people I know irl about the new doc they've always responded with just "No doctor shouldn't be womban cause womban can't be hero waa waa" But yeah these are all the real reason's the show stinks now. The new doctor is annoying at best, and the writing is just plain weird
awful writing, terrible stories and I feel bad for the actors who have to make the best of the material thrown at them, had a lot of potential and now it's just mostly disliked by even the hardcore Whovians
So, Drs.Who?
God I hate Woke and Political Correctness, so the only answer to who could be Doctor Who after the total smug, patronising wankfest that was Whittaker, is the one and only Bernard Manning. Can you imagine! Assistant "Doctor, The Daleks are at the Gates!" Bernard (as Doctor) "Fuck off I'm eatin' me dinner!"
if the bbc want to push their political agenda about the world we live in, why don't they do it on a show that's actually about the world we live in?
I hope they replace her with Rocket Raccoon. ;) But more seriously, it _could_ have worked if 1) the actress they picked was picked because they thought she would simply be a great Doctor and 2) if they had done it as a lighthearted "and now for something completely different" couple of seasons, with a young female doctor, and an older male companion. Yeah, if it had just been whitaker and the old dude, it could have been something. And then they went and messed with the backstory, so that he's not even galifreyan ... sigh. So, yeah, I want a non-human next, then. Because a funny-coloured human just isn't diverse enough, see. :P
Anybody else find it funny that chibnall looks like Dennis nedrey and his legacy of is equally destructive.
I thought it would be a cool concept for the doctor to be a girl, and I genuinely don't think it was put in for diversity but more to cause a splash to get more people interested (although the marketing for it was really ham fisted)
Wow, this was quite brutal 😂😂
holy shit this video is so cringe, ironic how you're saying doctor who is stuffing a political stance into our throats when literally the only thing you talk about is the political aspect of the show.
Your elevator doesn't go all the way up, does it?
A bit RANTY, but spot on. Dr who used to use subtle well written plot to explore issue, they managed to talk about race gender poverty ertc without ever mentioning it. The lack of any actual science Fiction in this current doctor is breathtaking. Also how many time does this DR "not know" the answer in this series !! the whole point of the DR is that they know how to fix, fight solve bluff their way out of impossible situations. Im sure Jodie Whittaker is a fabulous actor just not in this show with these scripts. i don't believe Anyone could do anything with the dross that the script writes have churned out. its very sad ...maybe AMAZON will buy the show and bring back the proper writers.
What happens if new the Doctor is black?... I’m gonna go with Idris Elba.
What will the pandering self-righteous Hollywood fuckfaced writers and directors come for next? Redo Saving Private Ryan with at least 90% female and poc cast? Ben-Hur with Brienne of Tarth? I wouldn't put it past those idiots to make Rey "Skywalker" into the next Darth Vader-like character, even though the SJW's be like "YoU CaN't Do ThAt. ShE's A StRoNg FeMaLe".
I think Craig Ferguson would be a great Doctor Who.
If you watch some of the Jodie Whittaker episodes you’ll hear a certain music right as the “message” comes up - like “if we work together we can do anything” or “don’t give up”
It all went downhill from Bill - right when the show went all “oh yes lgbt characters because equality” (I’m not homophobic but it feels really forced and totally unnecessary because captain jack was gay from the start)
I still think it’s good :(
the thing about Chinball only having a passing knowledge.... yeah nah I looked up his history with Doctor Who a few months back and was surprised he had more than 10 years of involvement. To me, that's the most tragic thing about the 13th Doctor. Chibnall's an example that things won't automatically go the right direction if you pass on a show to a longtime fan.
Don't even watch the BBC now, not even any television.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This shite still knocking about? I’ll come back next year I guess
I literally agree with everything he said in this vid Jodie and chibnall are literally the worst two people to ever bring into doctor who they are what's killing the show I only watch doctor who to see what is wrong with it now days and in the latest episode the only character I liked was Captain Jack because he wasn't a character created by chibnall and even though all his lines were crap he made it sound better because of his passion for the role and Jodie has no passion or love for the role at all they're a discrase to Dr who I will celebrate when her and chibnall leave
To resurrect Doctor Who: Chris O’Dowd as the next Doctor, and Alan Tudyk as Madame Vastra, because why the hell not.
I have to disagree a bit. I could have lived with the the current doctor and the female sidekick. But I can't stand the two male sidekicks, they just suck in their roles. The whole team was built for only one reason: to be as diverse as possible in skin color, religion and gender. They even have one member with a disability in there.
It lost it the moment Moffat said ok to having the timelords change sex. With no explanation other than they've always been able to do it yet it took the doctor 13 lives to do so and more lives for the master but yeah it's random. 🙄
Well said .
If I was showrunner, I would end jodie’s last Episode having Peter capaldi waking up since it was all a dream..
I watched the first 4 episodes of the Jodie Whittaker Dr Who's before crying myself to sleep and pledging to never watch again.
Jon Pertwee will always be my ideal Dr Who. IMHO. Hartnell can't be touched as he is the original. Eccleston clearly revived it, Tennant made it soar (ridiculous appeal...the universe wanted to have his babies), and Smith gave it so much charm. Why they had to ruin it is beyond me. At least Bond is safe. Oh wait. Scratch that.
I dont have an issue with them talking about current social or climate issues, or that the Doctor Changed genders. I just didnt feel like the writing/acting for The Doctor was good. Like honestly theres practically no moments of 13 that I say really stand out to me. Like there are moments that stand out for the others to me. 9 when he changes all the masked people back and says something like "this time everyone lives!" 10 had a bunch; timelord victorious, fires of Pompeii and saving peter capaldi, 3d glasses, swordfight and loosing a hand, alonsy Alonso, I dont want to go. 11 had so many great speeches that I remember, and so did 12. But 13? I dont really remember any big moments for her. I feel like the bigger moments are for Grahm and Ryan, which I thought was great.
Love a good utree reference
awful writing and an awful actress for the doctor and as for dumbing down they had Bradley Walsh being an assistant the doctor has gone from a timelord to a time chav
Ew.
They could of just made a different character and made her female, why did they spoil everything! I still would of been fine if they actually gave us something good but my gosh I don't think Doctor Who will ever be the same for me.
Chill out. It isn't that bad
fucking based. love it.
Just need canned laughter now
